Thinking of the world as the wider context for learning
The concept of international mindedness is an essential part of the International Baccalaureate (IB).
The characteristics of the IB mission statement and learning community profile reflect the multidimensional construct of international mindedness, which includes social responsibility, interconnectedness, openness and perspective-taking.
The IB Leaner Profile
This is one of the ways in which we promote international mindedness with emphasis on human capacities and responsibilities that transcend academic success.
It is central to encouraging students to focus on learning.
International week
Thanks to the active participation of our families, and the diversity of our school community, CEM students can immerse themselves in a world of learning.
Discover other countries through our great international week, where students will learn to appreciate the cultural differences that make us unique.
PYP Units of Inquiry
A 6-8 week in-depth exploration of a concept. There are six transdisciplinary themes of global significance that guide the units of inquiry at each year level during each year of study
(where we are, how we express ourselves, who we are or sharing the planet…). Each unit will have three or four lines of inquiry, written to narrow and focus the scope of the inquiry.
